We use the auxiliary 
We usually contract the negative 
- SUBJECT 
+ NEG. AUX. + INF.  did not →didn't - I/You/He/She/It/We/They 
+ didn't + INF.  - I 
didn't work yesteday. - She 
didn't go to the bank.
