For singular nouns that are near, we use this.

For singular nouns that are far, we use that.

For plural nouns that are near, we use these.

For plural nouns that are far, we use those.

  • SINGULAR NOUN, near: this
  • This car here is expensive.
  • SINGULAR NOUN, far: that
  • That dress over there is cheap
  • PLURAL NOUN, near: these
  • These strawberries here are sweet.
  • PLURAL NOUN, far: those
  • Those flowers over there are beautiful.
