We can use a relative clause to give more information about the subject. We don't need a second sentence.

Grammar - Relative Clauses: Subject Pronoun

We can use a subject pronoun to give more information about something when we mention it again.

We can use a relative clause instead of a subject pronoun when we mention it again in the same sentence.

We use who or that in place of the subject pronoun.
