We use the imperative for commands, suggestions and advice.

Grammar - The Imperative

The imperative uses the infinitive. It does not include a subject.

We use don't for the negative.

  • INFINITIVE + ...
  • Take this medicine.
  • Don't + INFINITIVE ...
  • Don't eat too much sugar.
  • No SUBJECT
  • You don't feed the lions!
  • Don't feed the lions!
