Il uso - Il Past Continuous

Usiamo il presente continuo per un' azione che sta avvenendo contemporaneamente a un' altra azione nel passato.

Usiamo una proposizione al passato semplice per l'azione più breve.

Usiamo una proposizione al passato continuo per l'azione più lunga.

Grammatica - Il Past Continuous

PAST CON. CLAUSE + when + PAST SIMPLE
The Past Continuous: BE + INF.-ing
BE → was/were
I/He/She/It + was + INF.-ing
I was sleeping when you called.
You/We/They + were + INF.-ing
They were fishing when they saw it.
