Função - Conjunções: when/while

Podemos usar when com a cláusula no passado simples ou para a cláusula no passado contínuo.

Podemos usar while apenas com a cláusula no passado contínuo.

  • when + PAST SIMP./PAST CON.
  • When she arrived, I was working.
  • She arrived when I was working.
  • while + PAST CON.
  • She arrived while I was working.

Exemplos - Past Continuous com when

I was sleepingwhenhe called.
I was workingwhenshe arrived.

Exemplos - Past Continuous com when

When/WhilePAST CONT.PAST SIMPLE
WhenI was sleeping,he called.
WhenI was working,she arrived.

Exemplos - Past Continuous com while

PAST CONTINUOUSwhilePAST CON.
I was listening to musicwhileI was jogging.
I was breathingwhileI was singing.

Função - Conjunções: so/because/until

Usamos so para o resultado. Usamos because para o motivo.

Usamos until para o período de tempo antes de algo terminar.

  • REASON + so + RESULT
  • I was tired so I went to bed.
  • RESULT + because + REASON
  • I ate some food because I was hungry.
  • ... until IT ENDS
  • I slept until my alarm woke me up.

Exemplos - Past Simple com so

Exemplos - Past Simple com because
