최상급

Superlatives


기능 - 최상급 형용사

최상급 형용사는 (2개 이상의) 명사 또는 동작의 그룹을 비교하기 위해 사용합니다. 종종 그룹에서 가장 높은 (#1) 또는 가장 낮은 것을 나타내기 위해 사용합니다.

  • SUBJECT > every NOUN
  • SUBJECT = #1
  • 주어 = #1

문법 - 형용사 wth 1 음절

한 음절 형용사의 경우, 명사의 최상급을 만들기 위해 -est 를 추가합니다.

  • SUBJ. + BE + the + ADJ.-est + CATEGORY
  • tall → tallest
  • Mount Everest is the tallest mountain.

문법 - 자음-모음-자음

형용사가 자음-모음-자음 (CVC) 소리로 끝나고 마지막 자음이 한 글자인 경우, 마지막 자음을 두 번 쓰고 -est 를 추가합니다.

  • 1 syllable with CVC sounds:
  • big → biggest
  • The elephant is the biggest land animal.

문법 - 2/3/... 음절 형용사 로 끝나지 않는"-y" 것

-y 로 끝나는 두 음절 단어의 경우 -y 를 -iest 로 바꿉니다.

  • friendly → friendliest
  • She is the friendliest girl.

문법 - 2/3/... 음절 Not Ending in "-y"

2음절 이상의 다른 형용사의 경우, 형용사 앞에 most 를 사용합니다.

  • SUBJ. + BE + the + most+ ADJ. ...
  • most in-te-lli-gent
  • The raven is the most intelligent animal.

일부 최상급는 불규칙적입니다.

  • ADJECTIVE → IRREGULAR SUPERLATIVE
