관계절을 사용하여 주어에 대한 더 많은 정보를 제공할 수 있습니다. 두 번째 문장은 필요하지 않습니다.

문법 - 목적어가 주어를 지칭하는 경우

다시 언급할 때, 주어를 정의하기 위해 목적어 대명사를 사용할 수 있습니다.

같은 문장에서 다시 언급할 때, 목적어 대명사 대신 관계절을 사용할 수 있습니다.

사람 대신 who 또는 that 를 사용합니다.

사물 대신 which 또는 that 를 사용합니다.

OBJECT PRONOUN → RELATIVE PRONOUN
PERSON → who/that
The girl was in the library. Sue helped her.
The girl who Sue helped was in the library.
THING → which/that
The book was good. Tom read it.
The book which Tom read was good.

예 - 목적어가 있는 두 문장

SENTENCE 1	SENTENCE 2

The student was in the library.	Sue helped her.
The drill has broken.	You lent it to me.

예 - 목적어 → 관계대명사 (주어)

The girl who Sue helped was in the library.

The girl that Sue helped was in the library.

The drill which you lent me has broken.

The drill that you lent me has broken.

⚠ 조심하세요!

We don't need to use a RELATIVE PRONOUN for an OBJECT.
The soup is cold. You gave it to me.
The soup which you gave me is cold. ✔
The soup you gave me is cold. ✔
