最上級

Superlatives


機能 - 最上級形容詞

最上級形容詞 を使用して、(2 つ以上の) 名詞 または 行為 のグループを 比較 します。 多くの場合、グループ内で最も 高い (#1) または最も低いものを示すために使用します。

  • SUBJECT > every NOUN
  • SUBJECT = #1
  • 主語 = #1

英語文法 - 形容詞 1音節

1 音節の 形容詞 の場合、-est を追加して、名詞 を最上級にします。

  • SUBJ. + BE + the + ADJ.-est + CATEGORY
  • tall → tallest
  • Mount Everest is the tallest mountain.

英語文法 - 子音-母音-子音

形容詞 が 子音-母音-子音 (CVC) の音で終わっていて、最後の子音 が単一の文字である場合、最後の子音 を2つにし、-est を追加します。

  • 1 syllable with CVC sounds:
  • big → biggest
  • The elephant is the biggest land animal.

英語文法 - 2/3/... 音節の形容詞 で、"-y"で終わらないもの

-y で終わる 2 音節の単語の場合、-y を -iest に変えます。

  • friendly → friendliest
  • She is the friendliest girl.

英語文法 - 2/3/... 音節 Not "-y" で終わらない

2 音節以上 の他の 形容詞 の場合、形容詞 の前に most を使用します。

  • SUBJ. + BE + the + most+ ADJ. ...
  • most in-te-lli-gent
  • The raven is the most intelligent animal.

一部の 最上級 は 不規則 です。
