Nous contractons souvent les négations was not et were not en wasn't et weren't.

was not → wasn't
I/He/She/It + wasn't + INF.-ing
I wasn't sleeping when he called.
were not → weren't
You/We/They + weren't + INF.-ing
We weren't fishing when we saw it.

Exemples - Le Past Continuous: Négations

I	wasn't	sleeping	when	he called.
You	weren't	reading	when	she came.
He	wasn't	working	when	it arrived.
She	wasn't	studying	when	I visited.
It	wasn't	beeping	when	I bought it.

They	weren't	walking	when	they heard it.
